I began painting in 1999, mainly for self-gratification. I gave most of my art away to family, friends and fundraisers. When I realized that others wanted to own my pieces, I decided to call myself an “artist” and began to spend more time painting. Although I still paint for the feeling that I get after the final touch that completes a work of art, the idea that it will be in another art lover’s possession one day brings a whole new reason for my creativity.
My passion is in abstract art. I Iove to create texture and have been known to incorporate objects into my artwork. Today my artwork can be found online and in local galleries. I am also proud to have been the artist for a local festival and a campaign called "Recapturing Our Culture" to raise funds to help restore our coast after the Deep Water Horizon oil spill.
In 2008 I took an interest in making jewelry and began a class taught by a local artist and dear friend. Making jewelry took my creativity to a whole new level and gave me another opportunity to share my talent. My designs reflect my attraction to chuncky jewlery and can be found online and in a local jewelry store.
Creating art is a passion that I love to share with others. I take every opportunity I can to donate my art for charity. I also offer Private Art Instruction to anyone interested in creating their very own piece of art. It gives me great joy knowing that I am able to help raise money for great causes and inspire others to explore there creative side by doing something that I love to do.
